National Digital Health Mission

 Recently Government launched National Digital Health Mission to upgrade health infrastructure in Country.

As we all know during Covid - 19 time most of the people in the country face tough situations related to health. In view with this, government comes up with this mission.

* Under the National Digital Health Mission, every Indian will get a Health Id card.

*  NDHM aims to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of health services in the country.

Key Features of National Digital Health Mission 

* Under this, every Indian will get a Health Id card that will store all medical details of the person including prescriptions, treatment, diagnostic reports and discharge summaries.

* This health ID card will contain all relevant information about his/her past medical condition treatment and diagnosis.

* This card will greatly help at time of emergency or in future requirements. 

Recommendations

* A new entity, National Digital Health Mission (NDHM), is recommended to be established as a purely government organisation with complete functional autonomy on the lines of unique Identification Authority of Indian (UIDAI) and goods and services network (GSTN).

NDHM is aligned to accomplish goal of vision of National Health policy 2017 and sustainable Development Goals.
